Wow, what an amazing weekend. Friday night, had a nice dinner party with friends. Saturday, we had bunch at Tartine in the West Village, then decided to walk the Highline. The Highline opened back in June and is an elevated park that is built on old railroad tracks. It's very cool...running under and around lots of buildings. When it is all finished, it will run from the Meatpacking District up to Chelsea. The architecture and views are beautiful and we were spoiled by perfect weather. On our way to the Highline, we stumbled upon a little gallery in Meatpacking. The exhibit was called ICONS, by Mr. Brainwash. There were huge, 8 ft. spray cans of ordinary things, portraits of musicians made out of broken records and lots of playing off of pop art. Then we went to Union Square for International Pillow Fight Day.Sunday was spent laying and reading in central park. We packed a picnic and then later walked to Bethesda Terrace and fountain and then down and around the boat pond. www.thehighline.org www.mrbrainwash.com
